I WALKED THIS FAR ALONE
I walked this far alone, dear Lord, but now I am afraid.
Oh, would You walk the rest with one
Whose feet have sorely strayed
Beyond Thy reach so many times
But never from Thy sight
And lead me like a little child home safely in the night.
WHO AM I?
I know what other men have said, but what say you?
There are those who claim that I am dead;
Child, is this true?
Some call Me Lord and Savior, too,
But who and what am I to you?
HOW MUCH?
Do you love the Lord? How much?
Enough to walk the way
Clear to the end and not look back
No matter what men say?
Do you love the Lord? How much?
Enough to give your best
To little things if that's His will
And leave to Him the rest?
You say you love the Lord? That's fine,
You know and love His touch?
Don't try to tell the rest in words
You have to live "how much".
A LIGHT
A light is set in darkness to shine forth
To make the shadows flee and darkness bright,
Fret not that there is none but you to stand
For God has set you thus to be His light.
A light cannot avail when hidden deep
Or it is lit in fullness of the day,
But it is needed when the night is dense
And every other gleam has fled away.
A light will show the way to weary souls
Who need so much to know God's grace divine,
Be not afraid what other men might say
For God has sent you forth and you must shine.
